Chrono-Shift

Terms of Service

Last updated

This is a plain-English template. It should be reviewed by a legal professional before you rely on it.

These terms are an agreement between you and Chrono-Shift ("we", "us") about using Chrono-Shift. By playing, creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. The service

Chrono-Shift is a daily history puzzle: put historical events in chronological order. It also includes other modes, such as Eras and Higher or Lower, as well as history timelines. The daily puzzle is free to play, with or without an account. Some features, such as the puzzle archive, are part of the paid Chrono-Shift+ subscription.

We may add, change or remove features over time. We try to keep the site available, but we can't promise it will always be online or error-free.

4. Acceptable use

Please play fair and be kind. You agree not to:

5. Content accuracy

We work hard to get the history right, but Chrono-Shift is a game, not a reference work. Dates, descriptions and facts may contain errors or simplifications, and historians sometimes disagree. Please don't rely on the game for academic or professional purposes. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we'll fix it.

6. Our content

The puzzles, design, logo and code belong to us or our licensors. You may play, share your results and link to the site. Anything else, such as copying puzzles in bulk, needs our permission.

7. Liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost streaks, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or £10 / $10 if you haven't paid anything).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all the rights that consumer law gives you.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let account holders know. If you keep using Chrono-Shift after a change, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Chrono-Shift is based. If you are a consumer, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live and rely on its mandatory consumer protections.
